The spectrum behind it
Spectrum tuned for coral growth and coloration
No wasted energy. A wider violet and near-UV range than most reef lighting, including true 440nm indigo. High CRI neutral and warm white LEDs provide exceptional color renditioning.
Spectral scan of the Meridian (Original Layout) with all channels equal.
What the two Edge bars add
Each Edge bar adds up to six inches of coverage. They mount on the Meridian's front and rear tracks using the included Edge Articulating Mounts, so each bar can be angled in toward the rockwork or out toward the glass rather than sitting fixed.
That puts light on corals from more than one angle, which is what the Edge bars were built to do: healthier, more evenly developed growth instead of light arriving from directly overhead only. The Ocular Holo Matrix optics focus that output rather than scattering it, with enough intensity to reach into tanks thirty inches deep or more.
Choosing your configuration
Meridian LED layout · choose one
Original
20K look with all channels equal · high white-to-blue ratio- A 20K blue look with all channels equal
- Four 440nm indigo LEDs on a dedicated control channel, double the two in the 14K layout
- A high white-to-blue ratio, built on the most popular lighting schedules Photon users created
Choose this if you want the bluer of the two looks and the full four indigo LEDs.
Also worth a look: Shallow Reef, if you want more white and separate control over warm and cool tone.
Shallow Reef
14K look with all channels equal · double the white LEDs- A 14K look with all channels equal
- Twice the white LEDs of the Original layout, for a more natural shallow-water reef look
- 3.5K warm whites split onto their own channel, separate from the 5.5K neutral whites
- Turn the warm whites up for a warmer look, or the cool whites up for a crisp one
Choose this if you want the shallow-water look, with control over warm and cool tone.
Also worth a look: Original, if you want the bluer look and the full four indigo LEDs.
Edge bar spectrum · both bars, matched
Reefer 14K
White, blue, and UV- A balanced spectrum of white, blue, and UV
- A natural look that benefits both corals and fish
- The only one of the three Edge spectra that includes white LEDs
Choose this if you want a natural look carried out to the front and back of the tank.
Also worth a look: Royal Ice or UV/Blue Hybrid, if you want more color out at the edges.
Royal Ice
Royal blue and cool blue- A blend of royal blue and cool blue
- Tuned for maximum fluorescence and color pop
- No white LEDs, so it adds nothing white to whatever the Meridian is doing
Choose this if fluorescence and color pop are what you are after.
Also worth a look: Reefer 14K, if you would rather keep a natural look at the edges.
UV/Blue Hybrid
Royal blue, near-UV, violet, and indigo- A mix of royal blue, near-UV, violet, and indigo
- Chosen to enhance coral coloration and stimulate growth
- Extends the violet end of the spectrum out to the front and back of the tank
- Balances against the extra white LEDs in the Shallow Reef layout
Choose this if coloration and growth lead your priorities.
Also worth a look: Reefer 14K, if you want a more natural look at the edges.
The two choices work together. The Meridian sets the base look of the tank and the Edge bars decide what happens at the front and back of it. Pick bars that reinforce the layout you chose, or bars that lean the other way to balance it. Every channel is adjustable in the app either way.
The systemPower, mounting, optics, and control
One supply, one outlet
This assembly draws 270W at full output and ships with a 300W supply sized for exactly that, so the Meridian and both Edge bars run from one outlet with the daisy chain hardware already in the box.
Multiple mounting options
Suspend it, mount to the back or sides of the tank, or slide it into a T-track. The Integrated Connection System links fixtures end to end, and the Edge Articulating Mounts angle each bar in toward the rock or out toward the glass.
Interchangeable optics
The Ocular Holo Matrix system lets you swap the spread rather than work around a fixed lens. The Meridian ships with OHM Balance at 90° and the Edge bars with Edge OHM Focus at 45°, which puts the wide spread overhead and the tighter, deeper beam out at the edges. OHM Optics are available separately in different spreads for both the Meridian and Edge.
WiFi, Bluetooth, and manual control
The Meridian and both Edge bars run on the ReefBreeders app for schedules, spectrum, and sunrise and sunset ramps. Connect over 2.4GHz WiFi for cloud access from anywhere, or over Bluetooth straight from your phone at the tank. They are separate modes, so you choose one at setup and resetting the light switches between them. Every Edge bar has a manual controller built in, and the Meridian takes an optional plug-in controller through the port on top of the case.

Mounting hardware sold separately. Side legs, back of tank mounts, and hanging wire kits are not included in this bundle. The Meridian has front and rear tracks for the Edge bars and a top port for the optional Manual Controller. The daisy chain cables are cut to exact length, so plan for the Edge bars to sit in their mounted positions on the Meridian rather than further out.
Built for the long term
The Meridian was designed around a commitment to parts availability and ongoing support, not a two-year product cycle. Whether this is a first reef build or a replacement for an aging fixture, it is a system meant to still be running, and still be serviceable, several tanks from now.
